Howdy Folks! Some of the photos have been downloaded from our cameras… here they are…
The Welcome Screen:
***
Dr. Umesh Bahadur’s Stirring Keynote Session – in true “Professor” style.
***
Bikash Mohanty, Lead – Product Marketing for Sourcing at Zycus – moderating the expert’s panel. He did a great job driving the discussion (and imparting his famous one-liners!
)
***
Sanjay Gandhi from Godrej & Boyce elaborating on his views on the transformation of Procurement in India.
***
Anurag Dixit – VP, Global Marketing at Zycus bringing into context the strategies applied by Global companies, and how they have leveraged technology to gain higher spend visibility, higher savings and greater productivity.
***
The eSourcing Live! Simulation begins. These were seasoned purchasing professionals, discussing and negotiating – but from a supplier’s perspective! This role reversal was interesting, and proved to be the perfect platform for demonstrating the benefits of eSourcing.
***
There were 5 teams in all and each team had to bid for a large order of laptops. Each team was given a “supplier business scenario” – basically cost price, margin info etc… based on which they had to make a lowest price decision. It was fun hearing these experienced professionals giving their reasoning (which was always solid!).
***
…and did these guys drive a hard bargain or what!
***
And finally when the eSourcing tool was opened and the bidding started… the competition pushed the price down. Final Tally? A discount of more than 40%! The power of an open marketplace!
***
Of course, Mr.Tendulkar ensured that there was always “added excitement”! Here is the cricinfo tally – 200 up!
***
With a satisfying workshop behind them, the guests settled down to listen to Aatish Dedhia, CEO and Founder of Zycus – who delivered the closing keynote. (Did you know he was a part of the core design team for the Pentium II?)
***
…and it all ended in a Networking session over cocktails and dinner (did we mention the Goan Fish curry?). The conversations were interesting and we received honest feedback on the event. Looks like we will be doing a few more of these this year…
***
Hope you enjoyed the photographs…We have videos too, which are being edited…stay tuned for those!

Let’s not forget the folks behind the scene who made such event a reality. A frenzy of activities that preceded the event was indeed a sight to watch. Creative juices oozing, trains of smoke filling the air, tempers running high and of course the fun and excitement that bonded us all together. And when everything was put together it was no less than a James Cameron movie
Guys, arise, awake stop not till the goal is reached. We need to spread the message across the globe
